This sweatshirt will be perfect for colder autumn days. A comfortable loose fit with a slightly dropped shoulder is exactly what I needed. I made mine out of French Terry but other medium or heavyweight knit fabrics would work well too. Ties are optional. Holcot sweatshirt pattern is available for sizes up to UK 24 US 20 EU 52.

Sizing: If you’re not sure which size to choose, check the measurements charts https://moonlightpatterns.com/measurements-charts/
Scroll to the bottom of the post to download the pattern, it’s available in A4 format (works also with letter format). You can turn off the layers in Adobe Acrobat and print just the one you want. It will be easier to see the correct lines. You can find the option at View -> Show/Hide -> Navigation Panes -> Layers
Start with printing the first page and make sure the test box is 5 x 5 cm.
You can try printing on different paper formats but always select printing to 100%. Let me know if you have any issues.
Trim the pages and keep the inner boxes only (or overlap pages) so the star markings touch each other.
Whenever you can, make a toile before cutting through your favourite fabric.
Pattern assembly (A4):
Tape the pages as shown in the picture below.

Seam allowances:
Seam allowances are included. You can see them on the pattern itself.
Recommended fabrics:

Fabric requirements:
Approx. 1m of fabric. Width of fabric: 1.5m
Cutting:
Front 1x on the fabric fold
Back x1 on the fabric fold
Sleeves x2
Cuffs x2 on the fabric fold
Neckband x1 on the fabric fold
Bottom band x2 on the fabric fold
Instructions (this is my preferred method, you can do it differently):

With front and back right sides facing sew arm seams using an overlocker or zigzag stitch. I used framilon tape while sewing to stabilize them.

Pin sleeves to the dress with right sides facing. Make sure that the notches on the sleeves and bodice match and sew together.
Sew the sides of the sweatshirt and sleeves all in one.

Sew the short sides of the neckband and cuffs together with the right sides facing. Fold them in half, lengthwise with the wrong sides together.
You can now sew them to the sweatshirt:
Stretch them evenly and pin them to the neckline and sleeves. The seam on the neckband can be aligned with one of the shoulder seams or in the middle of the back, whatever is easier for you.
Once sewed in place press the seams open. You can topstitch it for a more professional look.

If you want to use ties like me when sewing the bottom band don’t stitch its sides completely and instead, leave a gap and topstitch like in the picture. make sure that the gap starts at least 1cm from the raw edge to allow for seam allowances.
You can now sew it to the sweatshirt, feed the ties through, and enjoy your new make 🙂
